Social Media Monitoring

The Europeon Union Court says that the Social Service Network cannot be forced to install monitoring solutions to prevent the piracy and the forcing is illegal.

The EU Court mentions that Installing a montoring system just to see if the people are downloading copyrighted materials creates a complicated as well as a costlier burden on the sites.

The Court also concrned about the Privacy of the users data .

The Court made a similar ruling in protecting the Rights of the Internet Dervice providers, who argued that they should not be forced to filter the web content for the sole purpose for stopping piracy.

The ruling came after two anti piracy  bills- Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and Protect IP Act (PIPA) which where the hot topics in the web last few weeks.

Google and Wikipedia argued that this could put legitimate sites in danger.

After a strong protest from the websites last month by Blackouting their websites,  the lawmakers who supported  SOPA and PIPA decided to put the bills on Ice.
